Transfer Students: Admissions Requirements
In addition to completing the Transfer Common Application and the Cornell Transfer Supplement, you need to know about and fulfill some special admission requirements for the particular undergraduate college you're applying to at Cornell. All seven of the colleges require that you send us:
- official high school and college transcripts
- one Instructor Evaluation--recommendation from a professor/instructor who can attest to your intellectual and personal promise
- a College Official's Report
- the Required Midterm Report
- SAT or ACT scores if you have taken these standardized tests previously and would like them to be considered with your application.
- international students: TOEFL or IELTS
And you should note that nearly all undergraduate colleges and academic programs at Cornell accept transfer students for both the fall and spring semesters. The exceptions are:
- College of Engineering: fall only
- Landscape architecture: fall only
- 5-year architecture: fall only, unless you have completed 2 years in an accredited architecture program
Special Note: If you are applying for financial aid as a transfer student to Cornell, you must complete and submit new CSS PROFILE and FAFSA forms to our financial aid office, even if you have already submitted these forms to your current institution. For more information and a financial aid timetable, go to financial aid.
